Loudoun County Courthouse

Project Description

Costello Construction recently completed the 200,500-square-foot Loudoun County Courthouse in Leesburg, Virginia, as part of the County’s broader Courts Complex Expansion project. The new 4-story facility (including penthouses) is prominently located at the corner of Church Street and Edwards Ferry Road in historic downtown Leesburg, enhancing both the function and civic presence of the judicial campus.

Commissioned by the County of Loudoun, Virginia, the $61 million project was designed to meet modern judicial needs while remaining sensitive to the surrounding historic architecture. The courthouse integrates advanced security features, modern courtroom technology, and improved public access, supporting the County’s long-term operational goals.

The project achieved LEED Silver Certification, demonstrating a strong commitment to sustainability and environmental stewardship. Costello Construction self-performed several critical scopes of work, including all demolition, site concrete, and approximately 25% of all interior finish work—highlighting the firm’s capabilities in managing and executing complex projects with a high degree of control and craftsmanship.
