Project Description
The NVCC parking garage project was both a five-story precast parking facility and an infrastructure project that included road widening, traffic signal work and the complete realignment of the main entrance to NVCC’s Alexandria Campus.
The parking structure was initially designed to sit on driven precast piles. Costello Construction proposed the use of auger cast piles in lieu of the driven piles as a value engineering alternative. This proposal brought the project within budget and facilitated its award and advancement.
Features of the NVCC project include precast concrete spandrel panels and inlaid brick veneer. The site work, underground utilities, paving, site and building concrete, installation of segmented retaining walls and carpentry were all self-performed by Costello Construction.
