Located at the northwest corner of University Blvd. and New Hampshire Ave. in Langley Park, MD, the new Transit Center includes a 23,000 SF canopy roof over four platforms, a 1,300 SF facility building and state-of-the-art systems for site lighting, communications, safety and convenience to the public.

The facility accommodates 11 bus stops and is relocating a large number of curbside bus stops into one compact facility to concentrate pedestrian activity and ensure safety.

Arched canopies with exposed trusses provide shelter for waiting riders as well as an attractive landmark at the intersection.

Construction included roadway improvements, entrance improvements, a new signalized intersection and modifications to three existing signals. Work also involved demolition of an existing Taco Bell restaurant, erosion and sediment control, grading, storm drainage, utilities, paving, storm water management and sidewalks.
